A diary with your services in it

ServiceTimePrice
Classic lash full set 120 min £60
Lash infill 75 min £38
Brow lamination and tint 60 min £40

The deposit holds the two hours, not just the slot

A classic full set takes two hours: the bed made up, the client lying still, and nothing else going in that time. If the client doesn’t turn up, that is the morning gone, and a new client could have had it.

Hopaby asks for the deposit when the client books. They pick a time on your own booking page, get a pay link by text, and pay. Until they do, the appointment isn’t confirmed, and when they do it confirms by itself. You don’t chase anyone.

It works the same for an infill at £38, a lash lift or a brow lamination and tint at £40. You choose the amount for each service, and the client sees your policy, including your patch test rule, before they pay.

Your cancellation policy

Many lash and brow technicians take a modest fixed deposit, often around £10, and ask for 24 to 48 hours' notice to move a booking. Keep it small: the CMA's guidance says a deposit you keep in full should not normally be more than a small percentage of the price, so a longer set at £60 and a brow tint at £40 can sensibly carry the same low figure. Say how long an infill window lasts, for example two to three weeks before the booking becomes a full set. Many technicians also ask for a patch test 24 to 48 hours before a first lash extension or tint service. That is your rule, so write it into your policy and keep the record wherever you keep it today.

Questions and answers

How much deposit should I take on a full set?

There is no legal figure. The CMA's guidance says a deposit you keep in full should not normally be more than a small percentage of the price, and a larger one needs a reason tied to what a late cancellation costs you. Many technicians pick a modest fixed amount, such as £10, for every booking. A full set holds two hours, so it is worth taking, and a deposit on a quick tint is up to you. Our guide on whether a salon can keep a deposit sets out the rules.

How do I handle infill windows?

Set the window in your policy, for example infills within three weeks and a full set after that. Add each as its own service with its own length and price, so a client books the one that matches and the diary blocks the right time. The window is your rule, so put it in your policy where the client sees it before they pay.

What about patch tests?

Many technicians ask for a patch test 24 to 48 hours before a first lash extension or tint service. That is your rule to set and record. You can list a patch test as a short service of its own, with its own length and price, and ask clients to book it ahead of a first appointment. Hopaby handles the booking and the payment; keep patch test records wherever you keep them now.

Can I set the right time for lash lifts and brow lamination?

Yes. Each service has its own length and price, and a service can have a processing block in the middle, with the application before it and the finish after it. You also set prep and clean-up time per service, so the diary leaves room to set up and tidy the bed.

What if a client cancels late?

Your policy decides, and the client sees it when they book. A common rule is that the deposit is kept if they cancel inside 24 hours and, with more notice, returned or, if you both prefer, kept for the new date.

What does Hopaby cost?

Pay as you go has no monthly fee and takes 3% of each card payment, with three team members included and then £5 a month for each extra person. Pro is £29 a month with 1.75% + 20p per card payment. Texts cost 5p a part, or 4p on Pro. No VAT is charged.
