Privacy notice

This notice says what personal information Hopaby (“we”) holds, why, and what your rights are. The operator and data controller is James Banton, trading as Hopaby (Hopaby Ltd is being formed).

This website

If you join the waiting list we store your email address and whether you ticked the news box, and nothing else. We use the address to send you the one launch notice you asked for, and, only if you ticked the box, occasional Hopaby news.

Our lawful basis is your consent for the news, and legitimate interest for the one launch notice you asked for. We keep your address until launch plus 12 months, or until you ask us to delete it. Our processors are Resend (email) and Cloudflare (hosting and analytics). We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it does not use cookies to follow you between sites. We do not sell personal information. To ask for deletion, write to support@hopaby.com.

The app: business owners

If you use Hopaby for your business, we hold your name, email, phone number, business details, and the diary, services and payment records you create. We use them to run the service you asked for, to take payment, to keep it secure and to answer you.

The app: your clients

Your clients’ names, contact details and bookings are your clients’ information, held by us on your behalf. You decide why it is used and you are responsible for telling your clients. We use it only to provide the service to you.

Payments

Card details go to our payment provider (see Trust) and never reach Hopaby. We keep a record of each payment, not the card number.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. Write to support@hopaby.com. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
