Deposits that confirm the appointment
An appointment is not really booked until the deposit is paid. Hopaby holds the time, asks for the deposit by text, and confirms or releases the slot for you.
How it works
-
Step 1
The slot is held
When a client picks a time, it is held for them so nobody else can take it while they pay.
-
Step 2
They get a pay link by text
One tap opens the deposit page with your name, the service, the price and your cancellation policy on it.
-
Step 3
Paid, so confirmed
The appointment confirms the moment the deposit is paid. The client gets a confirmation email and, for bookings made more than 24 hours ahead, a reminder text the day before.
-
Step 4
Not paid, so released
If the deposit is not paid in time, the held slot is released and goes back into your diary for someone else.
What your client sees
- A text with a link to pay the deposit.
- A page showing the service, the time, the price and the deposit.
- Your cancellation policy, before they pay anything.
- A confirmation email when it is paid, and a reminder text the day before (for bookings made more than 24 hours ahead).
- A link to cancel the appointment (to move it, they get in touch).
What you decide
- The deposit amount, per service if you like.
- Your cancellation policy and the notice you ask for.
Where you save a client's card at booking, it is charged only under the policy shown at booking, never otherwise.
Deposits and cancellation charges are subject to consumer law. Read our guide on whether a salon can keep a deposit, and copy the policy template. Card fees are on the pricing page.
No monthly fee for up to three people. 3% when you get paid. No commission on your clients, ever.
